BCYCNA has been hosting the Ma Murray Community Newspaper Awards for almost a century! 2012 marks our 90th year of celebrating excellence amongst our member newspapers. The accolades recognize all aspects of the newspaper industry, including production, publishing, reporting, editing, advertising, photography, website design and community contribution.
The 2012 awards will be presented at a Gala event at the River Rock Casino Resort on Saturday, April 14, 2012. We are thrilled to be returning to the River Rock, where we know our Gala guests can celebrate in style.
In 2012, you can expect the same great celebration you’ve come to know: a delicious Scholarship Luncheon, the AGM, the President’s Reception, and of course the Awards Gala Dinner followed by an always lively after-party...

We are thrilled to be returning to the River Rock Casino Resort for our prestigious Awards Gala on Saturday April 14, 2012. This venue has proven to be a favourite for Gala guests and we are delighted that attendance numbers continue to grow each year. 2012 will surely be no different, so make sure you’re part of the year’s biggest celebration!
We have already booked our entertainment. Next year’s MCs will be Jill Krop, best known for a decade of anchoring the late news on Global TV; and comedian and storyteller, Dan Quinn.
Event and hotel registration will open up after the finalists are announced at the end of February, so watch this space for more details about the hotel and booking your room. For now, just follow these simple steps:

- Practice your dance moves.
